Refund Problem Reguarding Office Shoe Shop!?

At Christmas my mum went into office (the shoe shop), to buy me some real ugg boots. They didnt have them in stock, So my mum sent them back and they said they were no longer doing cash refunds, and only did gift card type refunds. So I had no other option but to take the gift card. They promised me that they would have some black ugg boots in stock in February, and that they would contact me. They did not contact me, and when I went in store in February they told me they did not have any in stock and that it was now July till they had them in. They lied to me on two occasions. I wish to get my money back, instead of the gift card. If they cant provide the goods that I wanted then I want my money back. Where do i stand in getting a full cash refund??

I have been to every single office shop near me and they did not have any in stock.

Refund Problem Reguarding Office Shoe Shop!?
Hi Jessica, bad news for you I%26#039;m afraid ! stores are not obliged to give refunds, cash or gift card, unless the item is faulty or %26#039;not suitable for the purpose which it was sold%26#039;. stores that give cash or gift cards for perfect goods do so from good will and to offer good customer service, not for any legal reason. Going to the small claims court would be a total waste of your time, you would probably get further by writing to the head office and addressing your letter to %26#039;customer service%26#039; explain your dilemma but in reasonable terms - making demands or threats will get you no where. Good luck.
Reply:See your local trading standards office which are linked to your council.
Reply:i work in the shoe business and unfortually they are in the right. the shoe business can never gurantee when the stock is going to arrive, especially when it means the product coming from aboard. so unless they said they gurnatee they would have them in then you can make a complaint on it.

you can check the return policy through trading stardards
Reply:cud u not get them to order sum in special, or go to the website if they have one
Reply:speak with a manager in a shop tell them your problem and the hassle you have had and that you want a full refund. If you don%26#039;t get it tell them you will go to the small claims court which will be a problem for them and you but it might not come to that. They may just see sense and refund you.
Reply:How, I wonder, did your mum manage to send them back if they didn%26#039;t have any Ugg boots in the first place? If she bought an alternative pair just to give you at Christmas knowing that they weren%26#039;t Ugg, then the shop may have a case to only give you tokens in return. However, I think that, even in this case, you are entitled to a full money refund. The law says that when a shop sells something, anything, it must be of %26quot;merchantable quality.%26quot; This means that they must be fit for the purpose they were bought for. If they don%26#039;t, a full refund has to be paid. Now, as I see it they may have been good boots but they weren%26#039;t Uggs which is what she asked for. They knew she wanted Uggs So, I think they must give a full money refund. If they still refuse, contact your local Trading Standards Office of your local council. Their address will be in the telephone book.
Reply:write to the store telling them of your dismay at their service and give them so much time to produce the refund - if no refund is given in that time - take the company to a small claims court to get yer money back

that%26#039;s what i%26#039;d do

funny how office might not sell and never have sold real ugg boots - but they only tell you they do just to keep YOUR money!!
Reply:contact your local trading standards they will get you your refund and they may have more people in the same situation as you with this shop that will build up and strengthen and each case
Reply:Sorry but shops are not obliged to give cash refunds unless your goods are faulty! I think you should write or email their manager/head office though and see if you get anywhere. good luck!
