What goes with bichirs?

I have two senegal bichirs (one is 4 inches, the other is 2 1/2 inches) and my tank is a 46 gallon bow front. I want to know what all I can put in there. Basically if you were in my shoes how would YOU stock the tank?

What goes with bichirs?
First, you should be concerned with the fact that your Bichirs will each reach more than 1.5 feet, so you should first look at upgrading (they may fit now, but they won%26#039;t as adults). Once you have plans lined up to upgrade, you can pretty much add anything to the tank that won%26#039;t fit in the Bichirs%26#039; mouths... Cichlids, Loaches, Rainbows, larger Tetras (Congo), larger Barbs (Tiger), Catfish (avoid Cories as they stay small enough to eat), and pretty much anything else too large to be seen as a meal...

I would add a stunning school of 11 Congo Tetras (when you get a bigger tank, you can add more), as well as some Rainbowfish for the surface...
Reply:i think you should put giant danios (around 3 inches long)
Reply:well bichirs need 55 gallons but i had mine in a 45 gallon and they were fish

bichirs are a bottom feeders so you can stock the tan kwith soem fish that will be in the top or middle area of your tank

larger barbs will be ok ( tiger, rosy )giant danios

dont get small fish as the bitchirs will eat them

and keep your tank well covered they are scape artists
Reply:i would put in about 6-7 tiger barbs make a nice shoal and are fun to watch you could probably go with more then 7 barbs probably 9 or so but careful not to over stock your tank
