Why are shoe-shop staff so stupid? You ask for a size 7 and they say they haven't got one, will a size 5 do?

I mean, they go in the back of the shop to have a search and come out with a smaller one and ask you, hopefully, if two sizes smaller will do? Are they thick? Is anyone really likely to say %26quot;yes, please, I%26#039;ll buy the shoes that are too small for my feet because they%26#039;re the only ones that you have in stock?%26quot;


Ooooh, I could rant on this for hours ...

or they bring out a pair of knee length boots as far away from what you asked for and say, we havent got them pink shoes how about these black leather boots......bad sales ppl, but funny really !
Reply:I don%26#039;t know but I%26#039;ve never ran into a shoe salesperson who tried to sell me shoes that were too small. They may have suggested that I try a half-size smaller or larger if they know the shoes run large or small.





I think you may be embellishing your story a bit here.

Reply:It%26#039;s sometimes Ok if it%26#039;s one size smaller, In the winter I can buy size 5 shoes but in the summer my feet swell and they have to be a 6 or 7. Irrelevant to your question though I%26#039;m afraid.

Reply:I know the feeling. I popped in to a suit place the other week and found a nice one and asked if they had it in a longer leg length. The spotty youth went into the back and said that they had no longer leg lengths in stock but I could probably be able to lengthen the leg myself. Bloody hell, when I spend 400 quid I expect the things to reach the bottom of my legs without having to do it myself!!!!!!
