Has anyone made serious money on eBay?

With that I mean £0000%26#039;s, I%26#039;ve been selling items on Ebay for a year now, but it%26#039;s so slow to sell, ie I have to relist some items 2 to 3 times, by the time I sell the item, bearing in mind, cost of buying them, the hasle of packing, posting, photos etc minus the listing money, its just not worth it. To mention afew of the items, shoes, clothes, dolls, collectables, books, games, etc. now I%26#039;ve got all this stock in my house that I just can%26#039;t seem to get rid of. Its been a total Loose for me. Who is making some serious cash and what%26#039;s the secret?

Please be kind with your answers as am still SAD whenever I look at the stock cluttering my house.

Has anyone made serious money on eBay?
Live and Learn and move on is what I learned from Ebay

Ebay is there to make money for Ebay and it wont do you arny favours either. There is just too much stuff and competition and too few buyers to make it worthwhile. There are some big earners but it really is a right time right place thing really they are as rare as lottery winners and just about as lucky

I tried to sell wholesale stock once and Ebay took most of my profits. Now I just sell casually without any risk of loss as I think that is what it is best for. If you have Books and CD%26#039;s get them on Amazon as it is far better and I am always pleased with the results. Have a go on there

Try going to a car boot sale, it dont sound glamorous but a lot gets sold there, more than you might think

Dont get disheartened, ebay is ONE selling medium and by far not the only one
Reply:I can%26#039;t tell you what to sell that will make you rich but I can offer some advice. I am an avid collector of anything %26quot;kitchenalia%26quot; and I have bought most of my collection off Ebay. Things are getting really competitive now and there are usually 5 + people bidding on the items I want. I have even paid more than I should have because I so desperately wanted it. What I am trying to say is you can%26#039;t go wrong selling this type of thing also if you can, try to get an invite to an Exel centre if possible. They sell all M%26amp;S last season clothes for 50p to £1 per item, definitely profit to be made here. Try looking on a search engine for exel or similar (it may be spelt excel) as for the stock you have, why not have a party and invite loads of friends and neighbours in to look and hopefully buy your stock. Offer them tea/coffee and cakes, make it a fun experience and you may get results. GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Some teenage kid did a few years back, but by buying not selling - he went for really big-ticket items and said he couldn%26#039;t use pay-pal or whatever - got people to send him things (in one case an entire truck-full of brand new mobile/cell phones) and then just didn%26#039;t pay. He got caught up with in the end, but he%26#039;d lived the life of a millionaire on the proceeds - as he was a juvenile, the sentence was minimal (and I think non-custodial).

If you have a huge pile of stock, why not open a market-stall, or offer the lot to a market trader?
Reply:eBay have just banned, for life, one Eftis Paraskevaides, an antique dealer, who was a %26quot;Titanium Power Seller%26quot;, and who had retired from his position as a gynaecologist (a not badly paid profession) in order to devote his time to dealing antiques on eBay. His company had a £1.4m turnover - not bad money.

At the same time eBay have banned six others, and suspended 2 more.

All this follows allegations that these people were engaged in what amounts to, and may in fact be, fraudulent practices including shill bidding.

This suggests that there are some people making serious money on eBay. but, also, that one needs to be cautious in ones dealings there.
Reply:eBay doesn%26#039;t seem to make riches for me. I think alot of time it%26#039;s cheaper to buy something new at the store than to buy it used and pay the shipping. To me, as a buyer, the most useful thing is buying in lots. I can get alot more clothing for only a couple dollars more in shipping.
Reply:oh yeah! ebay made lots of money! Just look at their recent acquisitions! THEY made a LOT of money! Funny though, their stock price still SUCKS! Keep an eye on the NASDAQ! Give it some time. They are going to drown in their own spit! I can%26#039;t wait. Someone should sue their pants off. They DESERVE it! They are GREEDY

B A S T A R D S! I Hope they CHOKE on IT %26amp; die with every penny!
