I can't do this...?

Consider the following frequency distribution that shows the distribution of shoe sizes in a women’s clothing store:

Shoe Size Pairs in stock

5 15

6 25

7 40

8 30

9 20

The department manager makes a random selection of a pair of shoes to show a customer.

6. The probability that the selected shoe is a size 7 or larger is (1 point)

a. 0.38 b. 0.40

c. 0.69 d. 1.0

7. The probability that the selected shoe is size 6 or less is (1 point)

a. 0.12 b. 0.19

c. 0.31 d. 1.0

I can%26#039;t do this...?
its a fraction, all you have to do is add all of the times the shoes sizes have been picked which would be

15 + 25 + 40 + 30 + 20= 130

this would be the denominator of the fraction( which is the bottom part)

then for the numerator ( the top part of the fraction) you add all of the times the shoes sizes have been picked, but only the ones of the sizes 7 8 and 9 9cause thats what the question is asking, which would be:

(40 + 30 + 20) = 90

so the fraction would be 90/130

then you divide that in teh calculator (90 divided by 130) which is:

90 / 130 = 0.69 ( thats C)

and then you do the same with number 7, but with teh shoes sizes 6 and 5, so it would be:

7. (15 + 25) / (15 + 25 + 40 + 30 + 20) = 40 / 130 = 0.31

hope i helped :)

they are trick questions!!!!

there is no answer!
Reply:huh?
Reply:6. (40 + 30 + 20) / (15 + 25 + 40 + 30 + 20) = 90 / 130 = 0.69 so (C)

7. (15 + 25) / (15 + 25 + 40 + 30 + 20) = 40 / 130 = 0.31 so (C)
