Experienced pointe dancers...?

Okay, so I have extremely narrow feet and very high arches. This will be my fourth year en pointe. I had been wearing a Bloch Suprima Strong, but the boutique stopped stocking them, so I tried a Capezio Contempora. I am in love with them. I see on the website that they are pre broken in, however since I am new to wearing Capezios, I was wondering if they have specific break- in exercises (such as Bloch) because I don't want to 'break' the shoes. Obviously, I know that they will get softer with dancing, but I was just curious to whether or not there was a break-in teachnique specific to these shoes.

Experienced pointe dancers...?
there isn't a specific break-in ritual but i have Capezio shoes and i absolutely LOVE them too. i wore mine in buy doing certain bending exercises that that usually do in pointe classes. Capezio shoes are really great quality, and you'll soon get to realize that, but by dancing and slighty bending the arch it will make it easier to dance and move, and make your dancing techniques more flowing. good luck with pointe!
Reply:I don't remember any specific things for Capezios, but I do remember that when I switched from Capezio to Bloch the shoes fit differently and that threw me off at first. The only additional thing I'd do to break them in would be to wear them a little bit more so that your feet get used to the new shoe (I also reccommend doing this anytime you switch makers or styles, actually).
Reply:nope...theres no specific break-in techniques for shoes...just your feet. some might break easier in some places than others, and some you shouldnt break-in too much because they die much faster but the way you break in you shoes should really depend on your feet
Reply:really, its a misnomer to say pointe shoes need to be broken in, the idea is to SLIGHTLY amipulate them to encourage them to take the shape of your foot. contemporas are a lovely shoe, and they aren't super duper hard so its more a matter of getting semi comfie in them. if you're hfeeling like they're really stiff. walk around the house in dem in them, this type of shoe doesn't require being sllapped in the door or hit with a hammer!
