What should I do?

It's been 1 month in to my new job (shoe sales) and I am not very satisfyied with the atmosphere there at all especially in the stock room...because 70% of the associates are behaving in a very nasty an unappropriate behavior. I recently confess my dissappointment to some other co-workers about an indecency behavior I withness of 2 other co-workers in the stock room (they are dating)

So...now, my co-workers to whom I confess the stock anemocities went and told my Human Resourses manager (both of them hate my manager whom they think she is not capable to manage with disciplence the shoe department)

The HR manager called me in her office twice in a week to investigate me and now she asked me to give her a written report tomorrow so she can start her actions over these...should I give her the report or QUIT?

I am hesitating to take any further step...as much as she wants to go deeper... what should I do? I never thought it would go far...I don't get paid to be a "spy"...

What should I do?
You opened this up—finish it and learn something..
Reply:tell her that you are not being paid to be a spy. unless she wants to make you manager.
Reply:pick your battles. is this something worth putting your name and reputation on the line for? are you being asked to behave in a way that's repugnant to your character?

as for having "never thought it would go far"? never understimate the toxicity of office politics. ...THAT's a lesson i learned the hard way.

hope it works out!
Reply:Since you are challenge by your superior to spill the beans so to speak regarding the incident you reported to one of your co-employees then you got no choice but to oblige too. You are now considered a "whistle blower", one who tells the inside story of one report.

On the other hand, you could decline the offer of telling them what you really know, besides this will affect your position in the shoe department you are in and would definitely create more problems with you than before. The company likes you to be their living witness of the incident in the stock room. You should provide them your condition:

1. if you tell them the real truth, would the management guarantee your existing job and your safety as well?

2. Ask the management to transfer you on their different branch once you testify regarding the incident, if not then no deal would surface since you value not only your job but your life as well.

If the company cannot guarantee any of these condition why risk the chance? And besides, without testifying on these petty incident is NOT a ground for termination, the management knows these they are just using you or intimidating you to testify because of embarrassment. Any idiot knows that, that a company has no grounds to terminate someone because she/he refuse to tell them they know, instead some company gives incentives and privileges for that employee to spill the beans instead of scaring them out of their wits.
Reply:If you aren't comfortable doing what she is asking, tell her what you think. Yikes, I work in a crazy place too where the manager needs to be replaced really badly- it isn't going to happen no matter what he does. I am working on a plan to get out of there as soon as I find something better.

Is this a job that you can replace easily or is this a place where you want to make a career? Consider your options %26amp; figure out what the best steps are for you. There are lots of sales positions out there, especially now that stores are preparing for the holidays.

Do what you think is best. Good luck %26amp; happy job hunting if this is what you decide to do.
Reply:You are a Drama hound! Get real, get a job and diligently attend to the work and not the personal behavior of the other workers, life is full of distractions, you choose your path and help who you may and your good works will follow you and go ahead of you and you will sleep well at night.
